Seoul Institute of the Arts (President Nam-sik Lee) held an honorary chair professor appointment ceremony at the Seoul Institute of the Arts on May 11, Megawati Sukarnoputri, the 5th president of Indonesia and the president of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan).
The event was attended by Lee Nam-sik, president of Seoul Institute of the Arts, key officials, ambassadors and officials of the Indonesian National Assembly, and Seoul Institute of the Arts faculty and staff.
President Nam-sik Lee said, "Ex-President Megawati was the first female president of Indonesia, the eldest daughter of Indonesia's first president, Sukarno, and served as the 8th Vice President and 5th President of Indonesia. In recognition of this, an honorary chair professor appointment ceremony was held.”
After the appointment ceremony, Megawati Sukarnoputri said, "It is an honor to receive a degree as an honorary professor at Seoul Institute of Arts, a world-renowned art university, and the Arirang and Gamulan performances prepared by Seoul National University were also very touching."
Seoul Institute of the Arts signed an MOU with Institut Kesenian Jakarta in Indonesia in 2015, MOU with the Indonesian Institute of Korean Culture in 2016, MOU with Telkom University in Indonesia, MOU with Indonesia Institut Teknologi Bandung, MOU and MOA with Denpasar University in Indonesia in 2017 , and opened a cultural hub in Bandung, Indonesia to further expand the scope of collaboration artistically.
Former President Megawati entered politics in 1987 as a member of the Indonesian Democratic Party (PDI). Since then, he has served as president and president of the Democratic Party, and has contributed to the development of the national economy and art by establishing democracy in Indonesia with his unique leadership and political power, such as carrying out Indonesia's first direct presidential system.
She is currently the president of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan), which is the ruling party of Indonesia, and provides a great deal of support for close art exchange and cooperation between Korea and Indonesia.
